Do we still have a Governor General ? Asking for a few million friends.
I was just trying to draw attention to their inaction when faced with a government that doesn’t really command parliament. Propping up an illegitimate government is an act of open complicity with it as well though. At least politically
I don’t have any time for the royal reserve powers, I speak as an observer of bourgeois democracy rather than a fan. But these people have jobs, they are highly paid to perform their jobs. I see a government without a real majority and wonder by what right do they remain sitting. I’d prefer if there was a clear no confidence motion in the House. It would flush out all of the manoeuvring bastards.
The thing is that most of the cross bench has promised to support the government in confidence and supply. Of course. (1) Most of them are liberals, (2) they can still collect a pay packet until the election, but afterwards, who knows? A minority government is normal internationally and not unknown in Australia, e.g. the Gillard government. …. I’d dearly like them to despatch Dutton off to the High Court though!
